SEATTLE, WA – American Safari Cruises has retained 20-year travel veteran Lora Abernathy, CTC, to help travel agents learn to creatively market and sell the company’s new Hawaii product, eight-day, seven-night inter-island mega-yacht cruises between the Big Island and Maui beginning Dec. 19. In addition, she will help promote ASC’s other active warm waters destination, Mexico’s Sea of Cortés.
Abernathy will also research Hawaii wholesalers, potential national account partners and niche markets. She most recently was manager of training and development for Majestic American Line and Windstar Cruises, and formerly worked or consulted for American West Steamboat Co., Prudential Intercultural Services, Executive Diversity Services, Runaway Tours, American Hawaii Cruises and Royal Viking Line.
A resident of Seattle, Abernathy holds a bachelor’s degree in cross-cultural studies and a master’s in intercultural relations, and has worked to eliminate the sexual exploitation of children through travel and tourism in publications and presentations. She was CTC accredited in 1997.
