Over the next three years, the major cruise lines will add (at least) 67,340 lower berths to the cruise market on 22 new ships.
In 2007, 2008 and 2009, respectively, the cruise industry's largest lines will become larger by 7 ships / 19,608 lower berths, 8 ships, 22,850 lower berths and 7 ships, 23,922 lower berths.
This schedule does not even take into account cruise lines' options to build additional ships during this time frame. These are firm orders only.
